Open Yahtzee is also available directly from Portage tree under games-board/openyahtzee.
Please note that the version in the Portage mightn't be the latest one (but it should be updated soon).

here. Compiling the package should be pretty straight forward. Just untar
the archive and run ./configure; make and then make install
as root.
